Spring Newsletter 2006  

In the spring of 2007 my family are planning a trip to China. This will be a very special trip for my sister Rachel and me because this will be our 1st time back in China since our parents adopted us. Our trip will also be special for our youngest brother, Samuel because he will hopefully meet his birth grandparents. Rachel and I are doing some things to get ready for the trip like learning Chinese and saving our money.

For me the most important part of the trip will be the day I go to the city I am from. I want to visit my orphanage, meet the nannies that took care of me and give the whole orphanage a big gift. I started to raise money for this big gift when I had my birthday party and instead of gifts I asked for donations. In the summer I am going to have a garage sale and in the fall I hope to have a bake sale at school. When I have enough money I will ask Yulin to help me decide on a gift. Maybe I’ll buy them a washing machine, some toys or schoolbooks.

I never want to forget where I came from, the special people that took care of. I am thankful for my Canadian family tree and will always remember my Chinese roots!
