Winter Newsletter 2006

I love hockey. My favourite team is the Ottawa Senators who we call the Sens. I watch the Sens on TV when I can but I usually don’t get to see all of the game as I have to go to bed. My favourite player is Zdeno Chara who is number 3 and a defence guy. He is very tall and looks like a giant next to the other players. For Christmas I asked for a ticket to a Sens game and my wish came true. On January 19th I went to see the Sens against the Mighty Ducks with my mom. They were still changing the name of the Corel Centre when we arrived there. It is now called Scotiabank Place but I don’t like that long name.

We had a great time at the game. We saw the team practice first and then we had pepperoni pizza for supper. We had to stand up when they played O Canada. There was only a little time left at the end when the Sens scored a goal to tie the game. We shouted a big Woo Hoo for that goal. I was sad when the Sens lost on a shoot out but they are still the best team ever.
