Fall Newsletter 2006

Hello, my name is Emma. I am eight years old and I live in Waterloo with my parents and my 4 year old sister, Maya. I am in the Grade 3 French Immersion program at Laurelwood School.

I have tried lots of sports, but dancing is my favourite. The dance studio where I have been taking lessons since I was 3 years old is called Carousel Dance at the University of Waterloo. I take ballet, character, and modern dance lessons there. The reason that I like to dance is that it makes me feel free and I can do whatever I want. I think that everyone should dance (even boys). Dancing is good exercise for your body, it’s good for your health, and it makes you flexible. Last week my dance group put on a performance of the Lion King for the parents of the dancers. It is even more fun to dance before an audience!!!!!!!!!
