Fall Newsletter 2006: My New Friend Maggie

I love her. Her name is Maggie. She helps me make snowmen. She snuggles up and sleeps with me at night. She kisses me good morning. She waits at the door for me when I come home from school with her cute smiley face. When I go shopping with Mom she likes to come for the ride. She is ready to play with me whenever I want. When I hold her she makes sweet happy noises. She loves to eat fruit and vegetables like me. She is energetic and fun like me. She is so nice and lovable. She has sparkly brown eyes like me. She has soft white fur and a curly tail. She licks me all over. She barks at the door when anybody comes in. Who is she? She is my new puppy. She came from the Humane Society. She was found injured after being hit by a car. I am so glad to have her because she makes my days happier.

Spring Newsletter 2006

I am in the Polar Panda Club. That’s a group where we do lots of different things with other girls from China and our families.

When we go to Polar Panda we do an activity. This time we did a play and I was the only kid in it!  I was the rat and I won the race!  There were lots of different animals in the race. Well really, the animals were our dads pretending to be Chinese zodiac animals. We pretended to race across a river in slow motion. I climbed on my dad’s back to win the race – I cheated!  He was the ox.

Another time at Polar Panda we went on a wilderness tour where we saw moose, horses, deer, and buffalo. One of the fathers in Polar Panda made a big map of China and all the kids put their names on the spot where they were born. We have listened to stories about China. I love Polar Panda!
