A collection of Alexandra's writings over the past years.
Winter Newsletter 2006 Hello my name is Alexandra and I am eight years old. I do ITF tae-kwon-do. Tae-kwon-do is a Korean martial art. The belts in order are: white belt, yellow belt, orange stripe, orange belt, green stripe, green belt, blue stripe, blue belt, red stripe, red belt, black stripe and black belt. I started tae-kwon-do in July 2004. Right now I have my black belt, which is the 12th belt. I am also assistant instructor. To get my 2nd degree (two lines on my black belt) I have to do three tests because I have three patterns to learn. By the way I already did my first test. In ITF tae-kwon-do a pattern is an imaginary battle to practice your moves. A pattern is not any move in any direction. I usually do tae-kwon-do two times every week. I also do sparing. Sparing is fighting with usually no contact. My favorite part of tae-kwon-do is board breaking. Board breaking is breaking pine boards. My 2nd favorite part of tae-kwon-do is teaching. Alexandra
