October 1997
Nine families returned on the 25th of October with 9 healthy
infant girls.
The October trip families arrived into the beautiful China autumn
season - perhaps the most comfortable time of year to make a trip. The weather
was similar to late summer in Ontario with warm, dry days and cooler evenings.
The families celebrated a culture-bending Thanksgiving dinner in Hangzhou with
Chinese chickens and Canadian cranberries, all prepared in advance for the occasion.
Among other highlights of the trip: The Hard Rock Café in Beijing, Summer Palace,
the Ming Tomb, Ling Yin Temple, the Sixth Harmony Pagoda and, naturally, the
Great Wall. And yet, there were still one or two places left unvisited…hard
to imagine!!! Needless to say, a wonderful time was had by all the mothers,
fathers and baby girls. |
