Holly-Li, Julia, Melody, Kelly, Sarah, Lara, Michelle, Erin, Elizabeth---nine beautiful, bouncing babes, delighted the parents who had waited so long to be with them. The July children came home to a Canadian summer somewhat gentler than the 50-year record hot weather they and their parents experienced in China. The heat, however, did not deter parents and children from taking in numerous famous sites in both Hangzhou and Beijing. Along with the usual Chinese displays of culture and tradition, the Lotus flowers were out in full bloom-particularly at West Lake in the south. The souring temperatures, although taxing, did provide for some gorgeous photo opportunities. The sky was bright and clear and the Lake and its environs glistened eternally, seeming to share in the families’ celebration of their much-coveted union.
