Halloween in Chongqing
I went to China
with my family to adopt our baby sister, Quinn. At first, we went to Beijing for
two days. The next day we went to Chongqing. That afternoon we got the babies.
It was very sad but not many of the babies cried.
Then Halloween
arrived. I was sad not to be at home, but I knew it would be a lot of fun to
have Halloween in China. Including me and my brother, there
were six big kids on our trip, aged 4-9 (big Quinn, David, Katie, Ella, William
and Lachlan).
That day at
breakfast, Yulin surprised us and got us some masks and hats and some people had
also brought some Halloween stuff from home. Before we went trick or treating
that evening, we had face painting in my dad and mom’s room. After that, Yulin
took the kids to look at this dance club in the basement of our hotel called The
Pirates Pub. It was very cool and was actually decorated for Halloween. We went
trick or treating to the rooms of all ten families in our travel group. By
accident David and I knocked on the door of a Chinese guest and we ran away. We
all got a lot of candy and we had a lot of fun. Yulin gave us all some special
candy made out of sesame which was delicious.
When we went back
to Beijing one of the things we did was to visit the Forbidden City. My brother
William got lost and we couldn’t find him for 5 minutes but one of the other
fathers (Alan) was the one who found him in the middle of a crowd of Chinese
people trying to help him. That was good. We had a good day at the Forbidden
City.
Then we went home
to Toronto. Most of the families were on our plane. I hope you liked my report
on China and especially Halloween in China.
