October 1996
Family Outreach’s biggest group to date: Eight travelling parents,
and six babies (including a pair of twins), brought together to form five families.
The group, all from Ontario, formed an ensemble in Beijing but was then divided
as Aimee and Alisa’s mother and father headed out to Nanchang to meet them,
while the remaining parents journeyed to Hangzhou to be united with their children
there. Not only were twins a first for Family Outreach, but also a boy! He was
certainly in good company though, with five little girls around him! Together
again in Beijing, and with the paperwork demands more relaxed than in the adoption
provinces, parents and tots toured the customary sights and engaged in a fair
share of shopping. But despite a wonderful trip all were anxious to get home
and celebrate the holidays with the newest additions to their families!
