December 1996

The winter chill, nor the prospect of spending
Christmas away from home, could deter the parents of Clara Anne from travelling
halfway around the world to greet their baby girl. Indeed, it was Clara who
made their holiday truly worth celebrating! Christmas is about family and matters
of the heart, so what better time to unite parents and children? The occasion
was commemorated through a mix of North American and Chinese traditions-with
the hotel in Beijing decorated in a wealth of tinsel and sparkling garland-even
a miniature Santa Claus! Clara, along with her mother and father, and Bob and
Yulin, were treated to a fantastic performance by a troupe of darling little
girls who danced and paraded around the stage to the tune of cheery Chinese
children’s music. It seemed everyone was in the holiday spirit! The trip ended
just in time for Clara’s family to usher in the New Year back home in Canada-with
their precious new bundle of joy!
